Our company continues to expand actively its partnership with Russian universities, implementing a great creation and development program of personnel potential in the mining industry. One of the cooperation vectors is meetings of BELAZ representatives with the students and professors of leading higher engineering and technical institutions.

Alexey Grachev, Deputy General Director for Strategic Development and Property Management, OJSC “BELAZ”, 29 and 30 November, gave an open lecture on innovative models of BELAZ mining equipment at partner universities of BELAZ - Ural State Mining University (URSMU) in Yekaterinburg and National University of Science and Technology MISiS in Moscow.

– We focus our efforts not only on the production of efficient, reliable and demanded equipment, but also develop cooperation with universities. Together with the best technical universities of Russia, BELAZ organizes platforms for students training in practical knowledge and skills of working with modern mining equipment, so that they can come into the mining industry even better prepared, – Alexey Grachev emphasized during his speech.

URSMU - is the oldest higher educational institution in Ural and the only full-profile mining university in the world. A specialized training room equipped by BELAZ with the latest technology is successfully operating here, where the future engineers and mining specialists combine theory and practice and obtain the necessary skills in operating and maintaining BELAZ equipment. Thanks to the equipment installed in it, the students can gain knowledge about the principles of operation of electric motors and generators, to study various electric drive control schemes, and hone their skills in electrical systems adjustment and diagnostics.

Two classrooms were opened in Moscow National University of Science and Technology MISIS named “Hydraulics. Hydromechanics" and "Operation of the equipment". The first one uses special stands to study the hydraulics of BELAZ dump trucks, while the second one is equipped with a dynamic driving simulator that imitates the operation of the equipment in a quarry..

During the course of lectures, which were carried out in a dialogue format, the students discussed the history and current achievements of BELAZ as well as a wide model range of mass-produced dump trucks manufactured by the company. The presentation of innovative models of our equipment attracted great and sincere interest of the students. The top manager of BELAZ told that while improving and producing diesel-fuelled equipment, the enterprise follows the consumers demands and pays great attention to the equipment using alternative energy sources creation.

– Today the efforts of the best engineering potential of the enterprise are focused on dump trucks belonging to the family "ECO-BELAZ" and running on liquefied natural gas, accumulator batteries, diesel-trolley trucks, as well as equipment with hybrid scheme of operation, including hydrogen. And, of course, it should be highlighted our super-new product – the first BELAZ excavator" – told Alexey Grachev.

The future mine workers asked a lot of questions, being keenly interested in the operating principle and design features of the new products. It is clear, because the time when they will have to work with this promising mining equipment is not far away.

Also during the organized events, ZAO "TRADING HOUSE "BELAZ" represented by Natalia Kholodulina, Marketing Director, held a career guidance forum for high school students #ProBELAZ. Young minds got a first-hand glimpse of BELAZ as the largest manufacturer of mining dump trucks in the World and the scope of opportunities and prospects for work in mining industry.
