Almost twenty top operators took part in the professional proficiency contest that involves driving 136-ton mining trucks on volcanic Udokan plateau, the biggest copper mine field in Russia.

To conquer the title of the fittest one, the workers of “Udokan copper” company had not only to confirm their thorough theoretical knowledge in the trucks operation peculiarities and structure but also to show their expertise in driving high demanded and popular BELAZ-7513 trucks.

Taking complicated maneuvers, the true virtuoso drivers demonstrated their skills operating the big trucks on snow-covered roads at “Zapadny” site. The Transbaikal residents managed to fulfill a certain number of operations, namely: “road snake”, “entering the gates”, making a sudden stop right by “the stop-line”, parking the truck in trucks repair bay and finally reaching the finish line. The contest judges evaluated each task, keeping an eye on the accuracy and execution speed.

As a result Dmitry Fedoseev became the winner of the contest, who had managed to execute the mentioned maneuvers better than the rest of the group. Such professional proficiency competitions, as Dmitry deems, give a boost to upgrade the skills in the machinery maneuvering, in particular, at the most difficult road sections, hence providing safety and effectiveness of operation in mines.
