The dump trucks of the BELAZ-7531 series with on-board numbers 111 and 112 have already measured their first hundreds of kilometres on the quarry roads of the A.V. Varichev Mikhailovsky Mining and Processing Plant.

The first 240-tonne BELAZ trucks arrived here in 2020. Today, the machines of this payload class, which is in high demand among miners, along with 130-tonne dump trucks, form the basis of the mining plant's technological transport fleet.

Iron ore miners respect the Belarusian equipment, naming the dump trucks after honoured veterans of their enterprise. The new machines enter the working rhythm smoothly but confidently with a gradual increase in the volume of ore mass transportations.

Two new 240-tonne trucks are entrusted to the driving teams of real professionals who have long been familiar with BELAZ machinery. Operator Yury Pozdnyakov speaks with special fondness about his 7-metre-high mining giants, which have a 2,535-horsepower engine under the bonnet and together with the load weighs more than 400 tonnes:

– This car is like a reward for my driving labour for 20 years. For me, of course, it is a joyful event and a great responsibility. BELAZ looks huge, but it is very light, comfortable, dynamic and manoeuvrable. This reliable and practical machine is equipped with many electronic aids. Now you can check tyre pressure or hydraulic system temperature in one touch. The cab has excellent visibility, good noise insulation, warm and cosy in winter.

Twelve BELAZ dump trucks with a payload of 240 tonnes are now in operation at Mikhailovsky MPP.
