150-ton BELAZ heavy-duty truck is undergoing testing at the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant

Our company manufactured new BELAZ-79212 heavy-duty truck on request of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant. This 150-tonne capacity special-purpose vehicle is designed for a highly specialized, important, and responsible task: transporting spent nuclear fuel in a shipping container across the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant.

Two stages of testing, preparation, and testing of the new vehicle's transport platform, conducted by BELAZ specialists, are now complete.

Before being put into operation, BELAZ-79212 heavy-duty truck will undergo a third and final stage of testing, which will be conducted by the representatives of Rosatom the Russian state corporation.

The special-purpose BELAZ is equipped with a Russian-made 312 kW engine with an electronic control unit. Maximum speed of loaded heavy-duty truck is 8 km/h, and 15 km/h of unloaded. The truck is equipped with two-post controls two cabins, allowing it to move like a shuttle car. To change direction, the operator moves from one cabin to the other. The possibility of turning a heavy truck is also provided. The heavy-duty truck is also capable of turning. Rotary racks five of the seven rows of wheels allow the vehicle to turn in tight spaces.

The heavy-duty truck for Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant is equipped with modern systems: braking, automatic lubrication, two-component automatic fire extinguishing, and 360-degree video surveillance.
