The record in Russia for the rock mass unloading in a month was set at the Elga Coal Deposit in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) with the direct participation of multi-ton BELAZ mining dump trucks.

The operators’ teams for EKG-18R excavators and BELAZ-7530 dump trucks unloaded and transported 626 thousand cubic meters of rock mass to the factories of Elga Enrichment Complex. This is a new Russian record for excavators of this model, confirmed by quantity survey. It should be noted that the average monthly coal extraction and transportation rate at Elga usually varies within 450-500 thousand m³.

The Miners of the Elga Coal Complex say that they managed to achieve the record result thanks to precise teamwork, competent planning and the use of high-performance mining and transport equipment and mining vehicles of high capacity.

- The face was good, and the logistics were well thought out. As a result, BELAZ trucks worked without downtime. And, of course, teamwork, interaction and precision are of great importance. We understand each other perfectly, - said Mikhail Semenov, an excavator operator and one of the co-authors of the record.

The key transport force on the roads of Elga are BELAZ dump trucks with payload capacity of 220 MT delivered to Yakutia over the past few years. The advantages of these truly large machines are high productivity, reliability and durability of units and systems, as well as a proprietary pneumatic-hydraulic suspension, which provides the vehicle with high smoothness of movement, flexibility and cornering ability, and comfortable conditions for the operator.

The partner of BELAZ, Coal Mining Holding “Elgaugol” is implementing the largest project in Russia for the extraction of premium coking coal at the Elga Deposit, its reserves, according to the experts, exceed 2 billion tons.
