24 new BELAZ mining dump trucks with a load capacity of 220 tons are planned to be put into operation at the Kovdor Mining and Processing Plant in the Murmansk Region by the end of this year.

The plant has already received 12 dump trucks – these are 220-ton trucks of three advanced models with electromechanical transmission of alternating-direct current (BELAZ-7530G) and alternating-alternating current (BELAZ-7530H and BELAZ-7530N).

Some of the most powerful machines in the BELAZ line are already arriving at the quarry of a major Russian producer of iron ore concentrate. The company is conducting step-by-step assembly and commissioning work before the first entry of the machines into the line. Another 12 such heavy-duty trucks adapted to the harsh climate will soon be sent to the North.

According to Kovdor miners, the BELAZ-7530 series dump trucks have proven themselves well in the Arctic conditions. The 220-ton Belarusian giants are characterized by: efficiency, high productivity and operational reliability. The systems of circular video review, automatic fire extinguishing, collision prevention and signaling about approaching a high-voltage line are responsible for safety.

A cabin with an additional heater and air purification system, together with an electronic instrument panel displaying detailed information about the dump truck's performance, make the process of operating the dump trucks convenient and comfortable.

Kovdorsky Mining and Processing Plant intends to replenish its fleet of BELAZ dump trucks next year as well. There are already agreements that another 14 mining 220-ton trucks will be shipped by March 2025.

A special report from Kovdor Mining and Processing Plant will be published in the pre-New Year issue of BELAZ GLOBAL magazine.
