“Arrangement of wheel rims production for mining dump trucks,” the third major import-substituting investment project of BELAZ, was included in the list of the promising projects of our country by the instruction of the Prime Minister of Belarus. The estimated cost of the investment project designed for 2023-2025 is 115.8 million Belarusian rubles.

The project is being implemented in parallel with the Organization of Ring Rolling Production and is aimed at creating another type of high-tech products with improved technical characteristics, such as wheel rims for BELAZ dump trucks from rolled ring blanks.

– This year we have developed technological solutions, the layout of production areas and the requirements for technological equipment. Currently, we are in the process of selection of the equipment suppliers, which should begin arriving to us in 2024. The main task for us is the synchronous launch of rim production with the production of ring blanks, as they are connected with each other, and one complements the other,” - emphasizes Sergei Lesin, Deputy General Director - Technical Director of the enterprise.

The production of BELAZ wheel rims is planned to be located at production premises in Orsha. The investment project provides for the procurement of 65 units of equipment.

Speaking in general about the large-scale investment program implemented by BELAZ, Sergei Lesin especially underlined the importance of constant investments in the engineering and technological capabilities of the enterprise:

– This is a constant process that requires us to maximize the concentration of resources, both human and financial. But without this it is impossible to maintain the leading position in the market and impossible to increase production efficiency, technical level, reliability and quality of our equipment.
