Historically, September has been a fateful month for BELAZ since its foundation.

So, exactly 78 years ago, on September 11, 1946, the Supreme Council of the BSSR made a decision to build a plant in Zhodino.

In September 1948, Belpromproekt finally completed the development and approval of the first project for the Torfmash plant, and in September 1949, the Zhodino Peat Machine-Building Plant was launched, which included a procurement workshop, a dormitory for 170 people, and 4 semi-detached houses.

Nine years later, on September 15, 1958, the Council of Ministers of the BSSR adopted a resolution “On measures to ensure the commissioning of the Belarusian Automobile Plant” – this is how the BELAZ brand was born.

On the night of September 14, 1961, the assembly of the first BELAZ dump truck prototype was completed. The director of the enterprise, Nikolai Ivanovich Derevyanko, personally sat behind the wheel of the BELAZ-540.

On September 11, 1965, the plant began serial production of the first domestic vehicle with hydropneumatic suspension – the BELAZ-540 quarry dump truck. A year later, in September 1966, the first-born BELAZ achieved success in the international arena, winning a gold medal at the Plovdiv International Fair in Bulgaria.

Time flies, decades quickly replace each other, but what remains unchanged is that from year to year it is in September that our enterprise hospitably opens its gates to numerous guests. This year, the Open Day at BELAZ, traditionally timed to coincide with the celebration of Machine Builder's Day, will be held on Saturday, September 28. Plan your weekend, we will be glad to see you!

Details of the event and the holiday program will be published a bit later.
