27 BELAZ-7531 dump trucks of 240 ton payload capacity became part of the technological transport park at iron ore mines “Karelsky Okatysh”.

Our dump trucks are designed to replace the imported machinery, as a lot of foreign manufacturers left the Russian market. “Together with Belarusian partners we are forming our own fleet of heavy-duty machinery. This is our obvious response to the sanction pressure put on us,” emphasized the head of the Republic of Karelia, Artur Parfenchikov, during a visit to the production site where BELAZ mining dump trucks are assembled.

19 heavy trucks have already been assembled and have successfully passed technical inspection and certification. Another lot of 8 vehicles are in line. “Upon finishing the assembly works, commissioning is carried out within 24 hours,” Karelian miners noted. – Then BELAZ trucks are fully run-in for the first 100 engine hours. Later all technical fluids are replaced, and the dump truck reaches its 100% productivity - it transports the rock mass.”

The new 240-ton dump trucks are equipped with fuel-efficient engines and modern safety systems. The electronics records the quantity of rock being loaded, determines the tire pressure, warns against touching high-voltage lines, etc. Workers here are like operators of a big computerized center. Referring to BELAZ operators’ feedback, the vehicles drive smoothly and the cabin is safe and comfortable.

In general today more than 150 units of BELAZ dump trucks with payload capacity of 30-240 tons and special equipment operate in Karelia, where natural stones - granite, quartzite, marble - are mined in large quantities.
