The production of large volumes of compressed air and its uninterrupted supply to power pneumatic tool drives, automatic lines and machines in the production of mining equipment are the key tasks of the latest compressor unit commissioned during the implementation of a large-scale investment project to modernize production facilities at BELAZ.

The stationary six-ton unit was integrated into the company's energy system, replacing its predecessor, a piston-type compressor that had reached the end of its service life.

Among the main advantages of the new BELAZ screw compressor unit, we note its high productivity – ensuring a stable production of more than 50 cubic meters of compressed air per minute and automation of technological processes, which directly contributes to the efficiency of the production of mining equipment. The industrial compressor, which uses screw air compression technology, has a capacity of 280 kW and a maximum working pressure of 8 bar.

Compared to piston-type compressors, screw compressors consume up to 30% less electricity, which reduces production costs. At the same time, the volume of compressed air supplied to the workshop can be adjusted depending on its needs for day or night shifts, weekends and holidays.

The new compressor unit is designed for continuous operation in 24/7 mode under various loads and a long service life, up to 100 000 hours before overhaul, which minimizes downtime for maintenance of the unit.
