During the last half-year BELAZ 136-ton mining trucks with lightweight bodies have been supplied to the mining companies of Mongolia and Russia, where they prove themselves as reputable and reliable ones getting favorable feedback from operation sites.
Thanks to the newly-designed bodies the trucks of flagship production type BELAZ-7513 now transport on average 4 tons more than in the previous times. Hence the rated payload capacity is increased maximally which helps consumers to increase the extraction volumes, reducing the fuel consumption for the ton of a transported cargo.
The weight of the lightweight body makes 17 225 kg, in contrast to its standard version; the weight of the standard one is 21 200 kg. It was possible to make the body more lightweight by reducing the metal thickness of sides and the body bottom. Thereat the new body preserves its structural rigidity and high strength characteristics.
All this is thanks to the geometrically controlled arrangement of amplifiers from steel on the upper side borders that protect the body from damages during loading, thanks to application of high-strength endurable steel, reinforced by contro-forces of box- and double T-section and the conceptualized center of load gravity.
The bodies of a smaller steel intensity are suitable for operation under complicated mining conditions. In practice, the design of such a body has a number of advantages, among of them are the following: increasing the load on the load-bearing components, assemblies and axles of the dump truck, increasing the uniformity of tire wear, reducing the roll of the vehicle when cornering, protecting the tires and preventing them from rocks falling due to rock guards.
The lightweight body versions have been developed and manufactured for BELAZ mining dump trucks of 130-136 and 220-240 ton capacity classes.
It should be noted that our new product, a prototype of a 130-ton hydrogen hybrid dump truck, is also equipped with such a lightweight body.
