On July 23, 2025 BELAZ was visited by a government delegation from the United Republic of Tanzania, headed by the Prime Minister of this East African state, Kassim Majaliwa Majaliwa.

Last year, at the international exhibition of the latest technologies in the field of mining and processing of minerals MINEXPO AFRICA in Tanzania, BELAZ presented its products to potential partners from African countries, including Tanzanian companies interested in modern transport solutions with regard to development of deposits and extraction of mineral resources.

The current official visit of the Prime Minister of Tanzania to Belarus is an important step in strengthening cooperation between two countries. A number of bilateral agreements were signed and a decision was made to establish a joint trade and economic committee to work out current issues of bilateral partnership.

Siarhei Lesin, General Director of BELAZ, introduced Kassim Majaliwa Majaliwa to the specifics of the assembly process of mining dump trucks and the wide range of manufactured equipment. The guests were also presented with our most significant innovative developments for the mining industry and a 90-ton mining dump truck in motion.

During the visit, the prospects for cooperation with BELAZ were discussed, within the framework of which the African side expressed readiness for closer development of mutually beneficial relations.

“Tanzania is surrounded by nine countries, some of which have developed mining industries. All of them are connected by our port of Dar es Salaam, through which it is possible to deliver equipment and spare parts. In addition, a road connection is currently being built between the countries bordering Tanzania, which will simplify the movement of goods and logistics, and will optimize costs. Our governments will closely cooperate in various areas. We want to open up new opportunities for business in Belarus and Tanzania. In the near future, we plan to hold a business forum of the two countries and will be happy to receive a BELAZ delegation in Tanzania,” said Kassim Majaliwa Majaliwa.

Siarhei Lesin thanked the Prime Minister for the invitation and emphasized that our company is always open to mutually beneficial cooperation.

Tanzania, which has a favorable strategic location in the region, and the African market as a whole are promising export destinations for BELAZ equipment. Tanzania is engaged in industrial mining of diamonds, gold, iron ore, and has great potential for exploration and development of other minerals, especially nickel and coal.
