After acceptance tests at the plant, BELAZ BX20012 went for operation to one of the open-pit mines of Russian Coal Mining Company “SUEK” in Siberia. For transportation to the destination, the excavator was disassembled into several large units, loaded onto railway platforms and sent on a long journey.
BELAZ BX20012 became the first excavator in the line of mining equipment of the plant. The vehicle weighing 214 tons is equipped with a diesel engine of 1150 hp capacity and a 12-cubic-meter super-reinforced rock bucket of the "straight shovel" type, developing the record forces on the cutting edge, such as a breakout force of 770 kN and a pressure force of 810 kN.
The high power of the hydraulic cylinders of the bucket and handle ensures work with both loosened and unloosened rocks, and the up-to-date hydraulic drive guarantees short working cycles and high productivity.
Particular attention is paid to the chassis: low specific ground pressure and a powerful drive provide excellent cross-country ability and stability even in the difficult conditions of Siberian quarries.
Comfort and safety of the operator are another key features of the excavator. The spacious ergonomic cabin is equipped with climate control, user-friendly controls, electronic instrument panels with touch screens, a video viewing system and a shock-absorbing seat, which reduces the load during long-term work.
The original software, developed in-house, controls all operating parameters and systems of the vehicle – from bucket movements to track operation. The intelligent IMS monitoring system allows remote monitoring of the units condition and real-time diagnostics.
The upcoming tests in Siberia will be a serious examination for BELAZ BX20012. We are confident that the excavator will confirm the declared characteristics, namely high productivity, reliability and safety, and will become a reliable assistant for our partners.
