BELAZ will supply Kuzbass with 15 flagship 130-ton BELAZ-7513P mining haul trucks, powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG). In October–December, the vehicles will be delivered to the open-pit coal mines of the Kemerovo Region.

Among BELAZ’s priorities is the expansion of its product portfolio through the innovative product development, including LNG-powered mining dump trucks. This approach fully meets customer needs.

The successful test results of the prototype dump truck confirm the operational efficiency of the LNG-powered equipment. The total mileage of the innovative vehicle exceeded 250,000 kilometers, with the gas engine operating time exceeded 16,000 motor-hours, and the cumulative volume of transported rock mass exceeded 1 million tons.

The key milestone was the recognition of the high quality and advanced localization level of the vehicle’s production: in August 2026, the BELAZ-7513P dump truck was officially included in the register of industrial products with the prestigious status of “Union State Goods”.

Currently in the shipping department, a batch of these vehicles is being disassembled into major components and loaded onto railway platforms.

The BELAZ-7513P dump truck seamlessly combines cutting-edge technology with fuel efficiency, performance, reliability, high safety levels, and environmental friendliness. The vehicle is equipped with a 1,194 kW (1,600 hp) reciprocating gas engine, an AC/DC electromechanical transmission, a branded hydropneumatic suspension, and a dual fuel tank system with a total capacity of 2,800 liters. Moreover, the vehicle features an in-house developed IMS mechanical monitoring system, along with various options for comfort operator’s performance. The 130-ton LNG-powered dump truck confidently tackles the excessive gradients of the open-pit coal mine, performing every bit as well as its diesel model BELAZ-7513D, while significantly reducing harmful atmospheric emissions and saving approximately 20 million Russian rubles per year in fuel costs per unit.

The proven field experience of the 11 90-ton BELAZ-7558H dump trucks and 130-ton prototype in Kuzbass confirms that LNG-powered dump truck introduction represents balanced, and most importantly, cost-effective solution for the modern mining industry.
