BELAZ shared its successful experience of buildup and development of industrial tourism at the enterprise during the International tourist forum “PROMPRIYOM”, taking place in Kemerovo, the capital of Kuzbass on the 3-4th of October.

At the plenary sessions and meetings of the Forum, the representatives of major enterprises, tourist companies and power executive bodies working in the tourist sphere from 20 regions of Russia, Belarus and Uzbekistan participated and presented the worked out touristic products and the best business cases of excursion programs.

Among the invited speakers and experts of the business program, the Forum was attended by a Belaz representative – the Deputy General Director for Strategic Development and Corporate Management – Alexey Grachov.

“To make the industrial tourism more entertaining and lucrative, to build up the positive image of the BELAZ brand, to raise the profile of our company – these are some of the strategic goals that we are pursuing. Another goal that is of no less importance than the above mentioned is the professional orientation. We pursue the idea of familiarizing the young people with the production sphere so that it could attract the new perspective specialists capable of making our company even stronger, more global-size and innovational”, – highlighted Mr. Grachov during his speech at the Forum.

It is BELAZ that in summer 2015 was the first in the machine-building branch in Belarus to preset the trend for openness and accessibility of its production premises to the public; and since then we have been successfully working out and promoting the industrial tourism. During these 8 years more than 230 000 of visitors from different countries of the world could personally evaluate the scale and uniqueness of the products made by the world mining machinery manufacturer. Each month more than 3000 of guests visit the premises of our company; the majority of them are young people and school children. On the whole, in follow up of the current year, the expected touristic flow shall amount to around 50 thousand tourists.

Enthralling thematic excursions, seeing a record-holder 450-tons dump truck that entered the Guinness book, a ride in the cab of a real mining truck or driving the dynamic truck simulator, the possibility to buy the branded products exposed at BELAZ-SHOP, getting the “passport of a tourist” – all these attracts a large number of admirers of industrial tourism and heavy machinery.

Along with the above mentioned, Mr. Alexey Grachov in his speech highlighted that BELAZ continues its work for modernizing and bringing the excursion tours to perfection, offers new routes and services for the visitors, develops the infrastructure of industrial tourism at the enterprise in order to inspire and delight its guests. The nearest plans, in particular, are to build a modern museum complex with expositions, using multimedia technologies, including virtual and mixed reality, to found a viewing deck in the extra-heavy load machinery workshop, to create new and uncommon photo zones, some interactive sites for kids, to expand the machinery exhibition and other.

During the “PROMPRIYOM” events a lot of significant documents were signed up, in particular, an agreement on cooperation between the Kuzbass Ministry of tourism and the eminent companies of the region – KAO “AZOT” and UK “Kuzbassrasresugol”.

The participants of the Forum visited the biggest industrial enterprises of the Kemerovo region, studied the best practices for excursions organization and professional orientation projects, familiarized themselves with various aspects and perspectives of industrial tourism development in the region, its creative and cultural component, as well as with the experience of organization and popularization of industrial tours.

Since 2022 in Kuzbass the strategy for industrial tourism development has been implemented. More than 60 enterprises of the region regularly arrange excursions, implement the professional orientation projects and experience exchange programs.

“The industrial tourism development is a large-scale and perspective work direction which helps the young people to determine their professional preferences and plays a big role in patriotic attitude development. For the several years our region has made a mighty heave in the development of industrial tourism. According to the results of 2022 about 9 thousand of tourists visited the enterprise; by 2025 it is planned to be increased by 50 000 of visitors annually”, – noted the governor of Kuzbass, the Kemerovo region, Sergey Civilyov, commenting on the results of the Forum.

Also during the visit of BELAZ Deputy General Director to Kemerovo, there was organized a course of lectures for students of the 3rd and 4th year at the technical university in the name of Gorbachyov. Mr. Alexey Grachov told the future engineers about the serial models of mining dump trucks and their technical maintenance. The BELAZ representative paid special attention to innovation developments of our company, i.e. caterpillar-mounted hydraulic excavators BELAZ BX20012 and a new hybrid hydrogen BELAZ 7513M.
