First Performance: BELAZ-7513W – Gas and Diesel 130-Ton Dump Truck

On September 10th, BELAZ has presented the prototype of a new gas and diesel engine driven dump truck with a load capacity 130 tons, which became a part of 7513 top series, which also was awarded with the State quality mark of Belarus in 2025. The main innovation is the engine operating on gas and diesel mode, which subsequently enables to substitute up to 50% of a diesel fuel by a liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The dump truck is equipped with a unique fuel supply control system optimizing a ratio diesel to LNG to maximum efficiency. A liquefied natural gas tank with a volume of 1400 liters and a diesel tank with a volume of 1900 liters allow 12-hour work cycle without fuel filling. The engine power makes up 1 194 kW (1600 h.p.), which can be compared with diesel analogues, however, operational costs are significantly lower thanks to the lower LNG value. Besides, using a liquefied natural gas cuts emissions of harmful substances, by improving an ecological environment at mines.

The BELAZ-7513W will be at the focus of the exhibition BELAZ at the Saint-Petersburg International Gas Forum 2025, one of the most recognized events in the gas industry.

The history of BELAZ operation with gas engine equipment began in 2017, since then the company has developed the given vector. For this period, the dump trucks have been manufactured on gas drive with a load capacity of 30, 45, 90 tons. In 2024, there has been presented the BELAZ-7513Р, the first dump truck over the globe with a load capacity of 130 tons, using LNG as fuel. This year, the production of the 220-ton dump truck with ICE operating on a liquefied natural gas as fuel is also scheduled.

In developing of the mining equipment on gas engine fuel, BELAZ sets the goal to reduce consumers’ costs on a life cycle of dumpers and to cut gas contamination of dumpers. The experience of operating already manufactured vehicles confirms the successfulness of solving these ambitious tasks, by exploring new horizons in development of the mining equipment on gas engine fuel.
