At the XIII St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, BELAZ presented integrated solutions – a 90-ton BELAZ-7558H gas-powered quarry dump truck with a Russian-made filling station and signed five cooperation agreements that facilitate the development of the gas motor fuel market of the Union State.
The exposition of a gas-powered quarry dump truck with a mobile auto container and a dispensing station became the center of attention of numerous guests of the exhibition – representatives of the largest companies, government bodies. Our exposition was visited by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Karankevich, who noted the prospects of BELAZ developments in the gas sector.
Today BELAZ-7558H is successfully operating in Kuzbass and shows a high technical readiness rate. This project is a vivid example of how modern technologies help in creating efficient and environmentally friendly transport.
– The mileage of the first 90-ton gas-powered vehicle is currently about 200 thousand km, and we can already share the results of its operation, – noted Sergey Lesin, General Director of our company, during his speech at the strategic session “Spectrum of gas-powered vehicles: innovations, state and prospects of market development”. – Taking into account the constant growth of diesel fuel prices with a stable price of LNG, the savings fr om operating a 90-ton BELAZ-7558H on gas can amount to more than 14 million Russian rubles per 1 unit of equipment per year.
This year, BELAZ also presented the BELAZ-7513P, the world's first 130-ton LNG-powered quarry dump truck. In the summer, it was sent to the Kemerovo Region for operational testing.
In the first half of 2025, BELAZ plans to assemble a 130-ton bi-fuel dump truck with a gas-diesel engine, which will have a significantly higher diesel substitution rate than its predecessors. In addition, by the end of 2025, a prototype of a 220-ton mono-fuel dump truck with a gas piston engine running on natural gas will be assembled.
The forum participants discussed not only the prospects and advantages of gas-powered vehicles, but also ways to synchronize the efforts of all interested parties in creating gas-filling infrastructure in regions wh ere mining enterprises are concentrated. It should become the reliable foundation that will facilitate the development of the gas-powered fuel market of the Union State.
At the international forum in St. Petersburg, BELAZ signed five agreements aimed at developing gas projects:
– agreement on the organization of production of gas and cryogenic components for BELAZ mining equipment in the Russian Federation;
– agreements providing for partnership between BELAZ and leading Russian companies in the development of gas projects - leasing programs for the acquisition of gas-powered quarry equipment, as well as the provision of the necessary infrastructure for its effective operation.
This comprehensive approach will create favorable conditions for the transition of mining companies to gas-powered quarry equipment.
The St. Petersburg International Gas Forum is one of the largest congress and exhibition projects in the Russian oil and gas industry. It is a unique platform for exchanging experiences, discussing the latest trends and innovations in the production and transportation of natural gas. More than 600 companies from Russia, China, India, Turkey, Iran, Belarus and Kazakhstan presented their latest developments at St. Petersburg International Gas Forum 2024.
