Thanks to advanced computer modelling technologies, the high quality of BELAZ mining equipment is established at the design stage. These technologies make it possible to calculate all design elements with maximum precision, ensuring compliance with the highest reliability standards. This approach is indispensable when creating new generations of machinery and modernising existing models.

The latest engineering techniques have been introduced into the process of machinery design thanks to the joint work of BELAZ specialists from the A.N. Egorov Scientific and Technical Centre and scientists from the United Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

Computer modelling technologies allow to virtually calculate the life cycle model of the future machine, increase the resource and reduce the weight of load-bearing structures of dump trucks. The essence of the applied methods is in simulation modelling of dump truck movement on different road sections using modern software products and subsequent assessment of forces in joints, strength and durability of parts and units.

An example of the effectiveness of new computer modelling technologies in design is the creation of an improved lightweight litho-welded frame for the modernised dump truck BELAZ-75184. Its increased reliability has already been confirmed in the course of pilot operation of the 181-tonne dump truck in Kuzbass.

At present, changes in the design of frames of new models of dump trucks with payloads of 55, 90 and 130 tonnes are also methodically worked out, and design modules are being prepared for a 220-tonne machine as well.
