News

At the 2nd International Industrial Exhibition "INNOPROM. Belarus", which ended on October 2 in Minsk, BELAZ showcased its readiness to offer the mining market comprehensive high-tech solutions in the field of mining equipment robotization and the use of alternative fuels.

INNOPROM has secured its status as an effective business platform, the key marker of which was the presence of a large number of representatives fr om our equipment’s consumer companies at the BELAZ stand.

Furthermore, substantive negotiations were held at the exhibition with a delegation from Yakutia, led by Aysen Nikolayev, the Head of the Sakha Republic.

During all negotiations with partners, additionally, information was presented on the readiness to implement innovative equipment at mining enterprises: robotic dump trucks and hydrogen-powered dump trucks. For this purpose, an operator’s work station (OWS) for robotic equipment and a 220-ton hydrogen-powered dump truck visual model with the necessary infrastructure were placed at the BELAZ stand.

The autonomous future is already here

The OWS, which has quite literally become one of the main hot spots of the entire exhibition, allows operator to connect remotely to a robotic mining dump truck in case of an emergency. The application of robots not only optimizes the operations of the mining enterprise through efficient vehicle movement as well as improves safety by ensuring an unmanned environment.

The exhibition workstation was connected to a 90-ton BELAZ-7558R dump truck located at the BELAZ testing site at the deposit "Sitnitskoe", Brest region.

Due to the integration of neural networks and computer vision systems, the robotic mining truck is capable of independently performing a complete technological cycle: planning optimal route, monitoring safety zones, and adapting to changes within the quarry. Human involvement is limited exclusively to control.

To showcase this technology in detail, BELAZ organized a roadshow at the BELAZ testing site at the deposit "Sitnitskoe", wh ere key consumers were able to personally assess the reliability of the autonomous complex in conditions as close to real-world as possible.

“Throughout this year, we have been updating the system to achieve maximum capacity and security. The next stage is commercial operation,” – said Sergei Lesin, General Director of OJSC "BELAZ". Representatives of the major consumers also confirmed their interest in the autonomous solutions, having personally ensured the efficiency and safety of this development.

“This technology is definitely promising,” – says Alexander Grushko, Head of the Technological Equipment Procurement and Project Development Department at PAO "Severstal" (Russia). “We need domestic and friendly technologies that will be scaled across enterprises in the Russian Federation. We are currently keeping our finger on the pulse. We believe that in the medium-term outlook, robotic BELAZ dump trucks will find successful application in the mining industry.”

Super-heavy-scale green energy

The introduction of environmentally friendly transport was the second strategic BELAZ vector at the exhibition. The "Hydrogen BELAZ" project was presented to the experts. This project is a model of a hybrid hydrogen power system for a 220-ton BELAZ-7530V mining dump truck, complete with hydrogen refueling infrastructure. The ambitious project implementation is planned for early 2027.

In addition to the aforementioned developments, BELAZ also showcased its cutting-edge equipment developments powered by liquefied natural gas (LPG), storage batteries, and hybrid systems.

Practical partnership

As a logical extension of the exhibition program, foreign delegations visited the OJSC "BELAZ" industrial site in Zhodino directly. The representatives of the consumer companies toured the assembly line and discussed technological details with the workshop managers.

The brand-new cab of 130‑ton BELAZ‑7513D dump truck became a major highlight for the enterprise’s guests. This new cab is based on direct feedback and requirements from mining operators and provides a fundamentally different level of ergonomics, safety and automation of the operator’s work station.

Not by dump truck alone

For the numerous exhibition visitors who wanted to take home a memento of the legendary brand, the BELAZ SHOP operated at the stand throughout the event. Souvenirs and scaled models were in steady demand.

It is worth noting that, in the opening day of the exhibition, BELAZ announced the sales start for its new collection of branded boots, developed in collaboration with the Belarusian factory BELWEST. A new pair in a deep brown has been added to the existing and familiar ginger and black boots.

The high level of activity at the stand, ranging from the busy queues for souvenirs to steady flow of substantive negotiations with heads of leading mining companies, positioned our display as one of the most popular at the INNOPROM exhibition.

The emphasis on robotization, alternative energy, IT-independence and meaningful engagement with consumers allow BELAZ to guarantee the top business efficiency and sustainability for its clients.
