38 new dump trucks of the BELAZ-7530 series, capable of carrying 220 tonnes of cargo, will strengthen the machinery fleet of technological transport of the Kovdorskiy mining and processing plant in the Murmansk region of Russia this winter.

The mining and transport shop at Kovdorskiy MPP continues to assemble and commission the equipment in stages before the new machines go on line for the first time. 15 BELAZ dump trucks adapted to the harsh climate of the Far North have already been run-in, fully adjusted and put into operation. Two units of the new vehicles are in the process of assembly, and six more 220-tonne trucks are next in turn.

– Our machinery fleet of BELAZ vehicles, taking into account the incoming 220-tonne trucks, will amount to more than 100 units, – said Yury Pozhidaev, head of the mining and transport shop at Kovdorskiy MPP. – We immediately purchased 38 BELAZ dump trucks with a payload capacity of 220 tonnes. In 2025, we plan to supply another 30 units... BELAZ is close by, and this is very important. The delivery time is good, the price for the purchase and further maintenance is acceptable.

With the help of this impressive transport replenishment, the world's only baddelite concentrate producer and Russia's second largest apatite concentrate producer intends to increase production capacity and ore output.

Kovdorskiy miners note that the 220-tonne Belarusian giants have quickly won their trust with their economy, high productivity and operational reliability. Comfortable conditions for operators in the cab of the dump truck are created by a reinforced heating system, effective dust and noise insulation and modern safety systems.

BELAZ trucks with payloads ranging from 130 to 240 tonnes are now operating in the iron ore quarry of the Murmansk Region MPP.
