Сooperation of BELAZ with companies in the Krasnoyarsk Krai of the Russian Federation is reaching a new level. Agreements have been reached on the implementation of joint projects in the field of industrial cooperation and development of infrastructure to support mining equipment.
– BELAZ company, whose dump trucks and special vehicles are actively used at the enterprises of the region, plans to open a large technical support center in Krasnoyarsk and is already selecting a site for its construction, - said Sergey Vereshchagin, First Deputy Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Krai - Chairman of the Government of the Krai.
In its turn, Nornickel, the leader of the region's mining and metallurgical industry, is considering the possibility of establishing a base for maintenance, repair, testing of prototypes and, in the future, assembly production of underground mining equipment and components at its site in Sosnovoborsk in close cooperation with BELAZ.
On May 15, the Belarusian delegation with BELAZ representatives got acquainted with several industrial sites in Krasnoyarsk Krai, where dealerships and assembly plants may be established in partnership with regional manufacturers.
And today, on May 20, during the visit of the Krasnoyarsk Krai government delegation headed by Sergey Vereshchagin to BELAZ, the parties confirmed the previously reached agreements and discussed in detail the issues of cooperation development.
Sergey Lesin, General Director of BELAZ familiarized the guests with the peculiarities of the assembly process of mining vehicles and the company's products. The Chairman of the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Krai highly appreciated the variety and scale of the equipment produced by BELAZ. Sergey Vereshchagin was particularly impressed after a test drive of 90-ton BELAZ on the factory's testing ground.
Krasnoyarsk Krai accounts for about 70% of Russia's coal reserves, and the region is among the leaders in gold mining. The share of BELAZ mining equipment in Krasnoyarsk Krai today is 58% of the total market volume in the region. In 2024, 66 units of BELAZ dump trucks will be delivered to the region. In the current year, 4 vehicles have been shipped. In addition, the delivery of 18 more units is under consideration.
