On 16-20 of October one more group of technical specialists servicing our mining dump trucks in Russian regions improved their professional competence.

Ten participants fr om Apatitov, Kovdor, Novosibirsk and Khakassia have studied in detail the arrangement of mining dump trucks with electromechanical transmission, its peculiarities in operation, repair and service maintenance. The study programme contained 35 hours of theoretical and practical classes. Senior specialists of our company explained the peculiarities of operation and technical maintenance of power control cabinets of electromechanical transmission, mechanisms and outer systems of engines, hydraulics and other devices of new serial models of dump trucks namely BELAZ-7513D and BELAZ-7530G as well as 90ton dump truck of BELAZ-7558 series.

The practical classes were taken in plant’s workshops wh ere the participants got an opportunity to observe the plant assembly of hydraulic units, power control cabinets of electromechanical transmission and even to participate in process of aligning the electric drives installed on the dump truck.

– In our region we maintain mostly 130ton BELAZ dump trucks, told Nikolay Shelygin, specialist of service center in Apatity, Murmansk region. – As a mechanic, I was mostly interested in separate units and devices of dump trucks such as hydraulic units, brake system, steering, dumping mechanism and etc. The mining equipment is constantly modernized, the various innovations are implemented so as for effective servicing it is highly required to improve its level of qualification.

Based on the words of course participant Nikolay Ubozhenko, the business trip at BELAZ Company gave the possibility to share the experience and discuss with colleagues those goals that have to be solved in everyday work.

– I am fr om Khakassia. I have been working at service for more than four years. We maintain new machinery and its electric drives. We got a great opportunity to study in detail the transmission control cabinet, to find out wh ere everything is located and what can be removed as well as how to perform diagnosis and technical maintenance. The classes were focused mainly on practice. We were able to get in workshops where the control cabinets are being assembled and took a chance to participate in alignment of electric equipment of dump trucks, noticed Nikolay Ubozhenko.

In conclusion of a week-long preparation, the course participants had successfully passed the exams and got registered certificates.

BELAZ constantly performs the programme on qualification improvement for service specialists from Russia and CIS countries in the field of technical maintenance of mining dump trucks. Such a programme helps to raise effectiveness and prompt response to technical maintenance as well as to maximize the use of mining machinery operation life. According the schedule, BELAZ Company will conduct the study course for more than 70 service specialists at plant’s premises and for 30 people – at their facilities on-the-job basis by the end of the year.
