Introducing the guests with the plant, Sergey Lesin, General Director of BELAZ, spoke about the modernization of its production facilities, the specifics of the assembly process for serial mining dump truck models, and the development of innovative equipment and import-substituting products.

During the visit, Andrei Kuznetsov and Anton Alikhanov participated in the first test run of the assembly line for heavy-duty mining dump trucks with payload capacities ranging from 130 to 240 tons after the modernization.

“Industry is one of the drivers of Belarus's development, and I would like to wish the industry continued progress with the country and the ability to produce products that are in demand on the global market. Today’s launch of the modernized assembly line is further acknowledgement that we are on the right track and producing equipment that helps us develop,” said Andrei Kuznetsov Belarusian Industry Minister in his speech.

The new assembly line, equipped with a modern information management and monitoring system, will allow for 30% more dump trucks to be assembled, the heavy-duty equipment assembly flow will become more intense, and the worksplaces at the assembly stations will be modernized and equipped.

“We are very pleased that the intergovernmental loan provided by the Russian Federation to the Republic of Belarus is being actively used to develop and modernize the engineering production facilities of such iconic companies as BELAZ. The company's equipment is renowned worldwide and is widely used in Russia: in the coal industry, metallurgy, and many other industries. I am pleased that we are pursuing such joint projects, and I wish BELAZ continued success and victories," noted Anton Alikhanov, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade.

The assembly line is just one component of the comprehensive reconstruction and technical re-equipment of the vehicle and recovery tractors assembly and testing shop, implemented as part of a large-scale investment modernization project. The renovation of BELAZ's main assembly workshop is aimed at improving product quality, technological advancement, and production efficiency for dump trucks in some of the most popular classes in our product line: 130-136-ton and 220-240-ton payloads.

The ministers had a ride on one of these 220-ton BELAZ-7530 series dump trucks around the plant test site, evaluating the vehicle's performance, ease of operation, and maneuverability.

Using BELAZ's fruitful ties with its strategic Russian partners, the heads of the Ministry of Industry of Belarus and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia discussed the current dynamics of bilateral cooperation between the relevant ministries of the two countries and the development of trade and economic cooperation. The ministers emphasized the importance of continuing active dialogue and exchanging experience to enhance the effectiveness of joint initiatives.
