On November 7-8, 2024, the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Transport. A Look into the Future" was held at the St. Petersburg Mining University of Empress Catherine II. The conference was dedicated to discussing current issues of creating and implementing innovative solutions and modern technologies in the field of transport development, including in the mining industry.

The conference was attended by Deputy General Director for Strategic Development and Corporate Management of OJSC «BELAZ» Alexey Grachev, as well as representatives of government agencies, mining companies, companies developing and manufacturing innovative vehicles and advanced transport technologies, industrial enterprises, scientific, educational and public organizations.

A BELAZ representative took part in the discussion of the most important issues for the mining industry, related to the production of innovative equipment, the safety of its use, and the creation of the necessary legal framework for this. In addition, proposals were made for the effective replication of technologies and their subsequent introduction into mass production, as well as issues of training personnel for the use and design of equipment of such a high level, including the use of special training programs and scientific and practical tools.

In his presentation, the Deputy General Director emphasized the importance of creating and actively using educational platforms similar to the BELAZ Competence Center, which has been operating at the Mining University since 2022. This scientific, educational and practical complex offers an innovative approach to training specialists using modern equipment, the latest educational materials, following the most important principle, which provides for the fusion of science, education and real production.
