The new BELAZ-75855 underground truck, designed specifically for complex mining operations, has been added to the line of equipment for underground work. This newly-designed truck received a Russian engine, a reinforced frame, smart electronics and an upgraded cabin. The 45-ton underground truck is being tested at the factory before being shipped to the consumer.
The vehicle was designed to meet a specific request and in close collaboration with Russian partners from the mining and metallurgical company Norilsk Nickel, who are interested in supplying reliable underground mining truck independent of imports.
45-ton BELAZ-75855 underground truck is a thoughtful combination of compact dimensions and impressive load capacity. The truck is specially designed for fast and uninterrupted supply of ore and removal of waste rock mass from mine tunnels.
The strong load-bearing structure with an articulated frame reinforced with cast elements, robust chassis, deep modernization of axles, steering cylinders, operator's cabin and maintenance systems, taking into account the experience of operating this type of equipment, are designed to ensure the operation of the underground truck in the harshest operating conditions.
BELAZ-75855 underground truck is equipped with a Russian-made four-stroke diesel engine—a reliable and powerful unit designed to meet the specific requirements of underground transport. 17.2-liter displacement and 405 kW (550 hp) engine power, combined with a spacious 24.2-cubic-meter lifting body, ensure high productivity. This underground truck can confidently climb significant grades, and a BELAZ-developed hydro-mechanical transmission ensures smooth gear shifting.
Modern electronics, intelligent monitoring systems, an automated lubrication system, pressure, temperature, fuel level, stability and tire pressure monitoring systems, as well as a fire extinguishing system – all this ensures maximum safety and efficiency. The thermo- and noise-insulated cabin with convenient controls, ventilation, air conditioning and heating systems create comfortable conditions for the operator. The cabin protection system complies with ROPS and FOPS safety standards.
The truck is currently being tested at the factory testing site. By agreement with the customer, the factory test program copies the actual operating cycle of equipment in the mines of Norilsk Nickel. Once all factory testing is completed, the new underground truck will be sent to work in distant Norilsk.
