On March 26, Sergey Lesin, General Director of OJSC “BELAZ”, supervised the testing of unmanned vehicles, which are carried out at the company's special testing ground for innovative types of equipment.

– For BELAZ company, the production of unmanned vehicles is a strategic foundation for development for decades to come,– emphasized Sergey Lesin. – We understand that the future of the mining industry lies in full digitalization. And today we rely on our own developments and deep cooperation with partners from the Union State. Our intelligent control systems and software allow us to be completely independent of Western technologies. This is our response to the challenges of the times and a significant contribution to global technological leadership.

This project is the result of successful scientific and technical cooperation of OJSC “BELAZ” with “The Joint Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and its IT-Partner «InDev Solutions».

On August 20, BELAZ received a delegation headed by Normat Tursunov, the hokim (governor) of the Navoiy Region of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Navoiy region is one of the country’s key mining centers, where the BELAZ mining equipment has been traditionally and successfully operated.

Laser-guided welding: BELAZ enhances production automation with digital solutions

The latest Robotic Welding Complex (RWC) for welding the frames of BELAZ mining dump trucks of 220–240 tons payload capacity, equipped with laser sensors for monitoring the welds, has been put into operation. A project of this scale and technological complexity has been implemented in the company’s welding production for the first time and has no analogues in Belarus.
