Application

BELAZ-75180 mining dump trucks are designed for transportation of loosened rock in severe mining conditions of deep open pit mines on haul roads under various climatic operating conditions. These trucks can be used in construction of large industrial and hydraulic structures, highway systems, as well as in manufacturing departments of the processors. Depending on the specific weight of the transported cargo, the greatest efficiency is achieved when operating with excavators and loaders with buckets of the following capacity: 20-30 m³.

The ratio of power and speed characteristics allows to bring the truck characteristics closer to the parameters of the ideal theoretical continuously variable transmission.

No gear shifting is required, the current and voltage supplied to the traction motors determine the torque and speed of the truck, providing a smooth power change during movement.

The control system algorithm optimizes drive system parameters and provides lower operating costs and greater productivity of transportation.

Taking into account the lower initial cost of dump trucks with electromechanical transmission, the absence of units subject to wear improves performance and reduces the cost of operation.

Braking System

Single unified brake pad is used in the design of the system. The large area of its friction material allows to use the parking brake system in an emergency, as opposed to comparable vehicles.

Cab

The comfortable cab provides comfort and safety of the driver. The design of the cab and body, equipped with protective canopy, provides compliance with the requirements of the ROPS and FOPS safety systems.

Electrodynamic Brake

No mechanical wear.

No need to replace large amount of oil and brake disks.

Allows to exclude the complex hydraulic cooling system from the design.

Engine

Diesel engines with electronic control and central switching-off impeller of cooling system provide high specific power and consequently high speed of dump truck when driving uphill, as well as high fuel efficiency.

To facilitate starting of the engine at low temperatures mining dump trucks are equipped with engine liquid preheater, which provides heating of diesel fuel and coolant at starting of the engine, which significantly increases engine service life and ensures reliable operation of the system in various climatic zones, including the Far North.

Frame and Body

Long operating life of dump trucks is attained due to application of high-strength materials for frame and body manufacturing.

Hydraulic System

The integrated hydraulic system of the steering, braking and body hoist allows to reduce the number of pumps, distribution equipment and connecting pipelines, as well as decrease the volume of the hydraulic fluid, and cut down the cost of maintenance.

The use of variable displacement pumps allows to reduce power losses in the drive system, and to ensure high fuel efficiency during operation.

Motor-Wheel Reduction Gear Unit

Bearing parts and gears of the motor-wheel reduction gear unit are made of the top-of-the-line alloy steels according to the most sophisticated technologies.

The applied kinematic scheme allows to transmit torque to the wheel hub simultaneously by the first and the second rows of the reduction gear unit and maximize the use of the space inside the wheel rim, reduces the actual loads in the reduction gear unit and provides its insreased service life.

Design solutions of the reduction gear unit eliminate the influence of deformations of gears and bearings of the unit that may occur during operation which makes it reliable and durable.

Steering

The design of the hydrostatic drive eliminates mechanical feedback and ensures the reliability of the system.

Suspension

Reduces dry friction force by 2-4 times.

Provides, in comparison with similar vehicles, the best smoothness of driving experience and, accordingly, the minimum dynamic load on the operator and all the units and subsystems of the truck.

The use of ball bearings in suspension cylinders reduces the complexity and cost of repairs.

Wheelbase

The short wheelbase of the trucks ensures high maneuverability.

Equipment

The manufactured equipment is equipped with additional units and systems that expand the functionality and improve operational attractiveness. There are standard and optional equipment sets. The set of equipment depends on climatic zone of operation: it can be northern or tropical.
